Our Favorite Healthy Breakfasts

Here at Local Glamour, we’d like to think that breakfast sets the tone for the rest of your day. If you start of your morning on a healthy foot, you’re more likely to continue being healthy for the rest of the day. Because there are so many options for unhealthy breakfast foods like pancakes, waffles, donuts, and muffins just to name a few, it can be difficult to select a healthy alternative. However, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite healthy choices for breakfast foods and we’re sure that you will love them! Not only are all of these choices great for you, they also taste amazing and will motivate you to stay healthy all day!

1. Avocado Toast with Eggs

You know the old adage that simple is better. Well that couldn’t be more true for this delicious breakfast option. A few slices of whole wheat toast with sliced avocados and some lightly scrambled eggs is just about the easiest, most delicious, and healthy ways you can start your day. Take our word for it and try it out. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and you’ll benefit from the hefty dose of protein it provides!

2. Banana and Peanut Butter Smoothie

Now, we don’t know about you but peanut butter and bananas are one of our all time favorite food combinations. There’s just something about these delicious foods that becomes magical when you pair them with each other. While a banana with peanut butter might not be filling enough on its own to get you to lunch, you can make it a meal by turning it into a smoothie. Blend one frozen banana with two tablespoons of peanut butter, 1 cup of almond milk and a few ice cubes and voila, you’ve got the perfect shake!

3. Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

One of our favorite ways to get in your daily dose of fruits is by throwing them into our morning parfaits. Layer all of your favorite fruits with some Greek yogurt, and granola for one of the tastiest and healthiest breakfasts out there! The best part about making your parfait at home is that you can control the amount of sugar that goes into it. While parfaits sold at places like Starbucks contain huge amounts of sugar, you can make your parfait healthy by controlling everything that goes into it!
