Smoothies. Just the word alone is enough to bring images of delectable fruit mixtures blended together and served ice cold, on hot summer days. Smoothies are not only incredibly delicious and versatile, they are one of the healthiest things you can put in your body. With summer around the corner it’s a great idea to have a list of smoothie recipes you want to try on those hot, humid days to cool down. This particular recipe will be sure to leave you craving for more even after you’ve had a couple servings. The combination of sweet bananas with delicious coconut will have you feeling like you’re on a tropical vacation in your own home.
To make this banana coconut smoothie you’ll need:
2 ripe bananas that have been chopped into slices
1 cup of coconut milk
½ cup of regular milk
And a cupful of ice cubes
*Note that if you want your smoothie to be a little more indulgent and sweet, add one scoop of vanilla ice cream to the mix!
Since the bananas and coconut milk will already be sweet, there’s no need to add any sugar to the mix.
Throw all of the ingredients into the blender and blend until the consistency is smooth but still thick. Remember, this is a smoothie, not a juice so you don’t want it to be too thin.
Once everything has been blended up serve the smoothies in tall glasses with slices of bananas and dried coconut as a garnish. The garnish is optional so don’t worry if you don’t have these ingredients on hand. You’re sure to love this refreshing smoothie so give it a try for sure!
